Does it deliver?
Fine views from the upper level and very comfy bed. The friendly feline residents added charm and warmth to our experience.
Road noise can be an issue during the day. Staff interactions felt rather functional without much warmth.

The staff were very helpful when we left our camera behind, even driving around town to find us. They then agreed to ship it for us, very kind. The motel worked well for us as we stopped there for just one night on our way north. They kindly let us check in later then their normal hours as our plane was delayed.

Everything was brand-new, including kind staff and incredible location in a quiet area...

If you like a small, cold room with a view of the stairwell, then this place is just perfect! I expected a warm welcome and maybe some sort of compensation for all this inconveniences but apparently that's too much to ask for. Probably all the good reviews are from people too polite to complain. Disappointed.

Good location, very clean and new. No bad smells. Easy check in.
The bed was worn out on the edges. I guess too many fat people have been sitting there. Was a bit saggy, but ok to sleep in.

Very small room,Too expensive for the size. Couldnt fill electric jug from tap as as it wouldnt fit in sink.

The serene environment complemented our relaxing getaway.
Unfortunately, the check-in process was bothersome. We were sent to an unmade room, frustrating after carrying our luggage up the stairs. The room itself became overly warm due to inadequate curtain coverage, allowing annoying light to filter in all night. I found it challenging to explore the area since the uphill walk from the town center felt quite steep and tiring.

Nothing - it was fit for purpose

Easy drive (relatively easy walk) to main street. Not on the main street, so it's very quiet. Good for resting. Clean, modern decor.

The stay was quite comfortable in the Superior Studio, which provided enough space for our family. We enjoyed the clean facilities and the well-equipped kitchenette made meal prep easy. The location was great, just a short uphill walk to the main center of Kaikoura, and we loved being close to the Dolphin Encounter. It was nice to find a friendly dog and cats roaming around, adding a cozy touch to our experience.

Most things were fine - location, service, room size.
Pillows were very hard. There were noises (tapping) during the night which seemed to come from the walls rather than neighbouring rooms.. could have been a pest/animal...No fixed carparking

We were upgraded upon arrival to another studio room. Room was modern and clean. Motel was a short walk down the hill to the shops and the dolphin encounters building. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would stay again.

Had a thoroughly enjoyable stay during road trip, everything was fantastic. The studio suite I stayed in was well-appointed with a stunning view of the mountains. The cost was £ 139. The location was very central, very close to the hill to shops/cafes.
